The Brief

To replace the old kitchen in our 16th century farmhouse with a classic wooden bespoke painted kitchen.

The Experience

As a property developer, I have previously used a joiner to create bespoke hand painted kitchen furnture. This time I chose Kingston by Design because they are competitively priced and they oversee the whole job, pulling it all together. It’s an invaluable service.

I had a strong idea of what I wanted. Franke Belfast sink. Franke Tri-flow tap. Neff appliances including the Neff Circosteam oven. We visited the showroom and discussed our ideas with Jeremy. He offered suggestions, improving on my original ideas. The light in a high level wine rack looks so stylish… I would never have thought of it.

We studied the detailed plans and were able to make tweaks. Jeremy was brilliant; endlessly patient and never pressuring us to get on with it.

The Kingston by Design workmen were very good. We are finicky customers, but nothing was too much trouble. For example, one of the end panels was plain but we wanted tongue and grooved. It meant taking it back to the workshop, using the router… but they were happy to do what we wanted.

The Result

A classic wooden painted bespoke Stoneham kitchen installation with Neff appliances.
